I worked in collaboration with my team to design and prototype Guardian Angel, a wearable safety system aimed at addressing the lack of women’s safety on college campuses. The system combined a magnetically attachable button with a companion mobile app through Bluetooth connectivity.
The button could be attached anywhere that seemed most easily accessible and convenient to users: their clothes, their bags, their accessories, etc. The mobile app was programmed to be able to set designated contacts to alert along with the police. When pressed a certain number of times, the button triggered the app to alert police and designated contacts, ensuring users were never truly alone.
